Comedian Ricky Velez is standing up for his good friend Pete Davidson.
Velez took to his Instagram Story in a since-expired post to show support for Davidson, who has been fielding incessant social media attacks from Kanye West.
“PD is my brother, none of this is funny to me nor entertaining,” he wrote. “A 44 year old man internet thugging is just sad.”
Velez’s criticism came after the Yeezy fashion designer released the controversial music video for his song “Eazy,” which features a Claymation version of Davidson, 28, being kidnapped and buried alive.
“EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER, EXCEPT SKETE YOU KNOW WHO. JK, HE’S FINE,” read the final frame of the video, with the word “SKETE,” which is West’s nickname for Davidson, scratched out.
“This is, for real, really scary,” another one of Davidson’s pals previously told Page Six.
The video appears to have been a culmination of attacks on Davidson, who is dating West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. The “Heartless” rapper had been targeting the “Saturday Night Live” star on social media for weeks in a bizarre attempt to win back Kardashian, 41, referring to the Staten Island native as a “d–khead” and sharing private messages allegedly from Kardashian worried about her beau’s safety.
“Ran Skete off the gram,” West boasted on Instagram in February after Davidson deactivated his account. “Tell your mother I changed your name for life.”
A source close to Davidson later told Page Six exclusively that his decision to leave the platform again had nothing to do with the “Monster” performer.
“Pete deleted his IG because immediately after his first post, he started receiving a flood of messages, both positive and negative, reminding him why he didn’t want social media to begin with,” the insider shared.
Kardashian, 41, started dating Davidson last fall after filing for divorce from West, with whom she shares four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. The reality star was declared legally single earlier this week.
