Disney’s long-awaited Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is finally in sight. At a Investors Day call on Thursday, Kevin Feige announced that the next original MCU show is currently slated to hit Disney Plus in March.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set sometime after Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. As the name would suggest, it focuses on Anthony Mackie’s Falcon and Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier. Things are bit different than previous times they’ve worked together, however: Steve Rogers is notably absent, with Sam Wilson having taken up the new Captain America mantle in his stead. Now, Wilson and Barnes are a crime-fighting duo, teaming up against Zemo (Daniel Bruhl), the primary antagonist from Captain America: Civil War, who’s now wearing his iconic purple mask from the comics.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be available exclusively on Disney Plus, Disney’s new streaming platform. Disney Plus will house half of the Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: in addition to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision will premiere in January, while Loki, What If...?, and Hawkeye will hit the platform over the next few years. Other shows in development include Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on March 19.
